Remove the three screws securing the interior door lock assembly with a star bit screwdriver. The keys for the dead bolt and the latch handle are functional. Wipe off your door jam area where the dead bolt would fit and then place a lot of the chalk onto the end of the dead bolt pin itself. Perhaps you have your key but the lock won t turn the key gets stuck or the door is jammed and won t open.
